The name derives from the beautiful blueish tint the beans develop due their proprietary method of processing which is called Giling Basah (Wet Hulled).
This particular coffee is sourced from family owned farms in the volcanic region of Mount Agung in the Kintamani highlands on the island of Bali, Indonesia.
The system of irrigation used to water these plants was designed more than 1,000 years ago by Hindu priests.
Pesticides and insecticides and chemical fertilizers are strictly forbidden on the island, thus insuring the organic attribute of this coffee.
